Installing the Honda shifter consists of replacing the original selector with the one supplied in the quickshifter kit, plugging in the supplied plug and activating it via the speedometer menu. When gearing up and down, the shifter will feel any force exerted on the selector and cut off the ignition for a few milliseconds and thus change gears without disengaging.

The cut is longer at low speed than at high speed, in order to preserve the gearbox as much as possible.
